Development Team

  • Added water shader, migrated to a new rendering pipeline
  • Migrated to automatically generated maps (spline generation)
  • Improved auto generated maps with dynamic width & depth; improved water collider
  • Improved eagle's behaviour
  • Added hostile enemy "fisherman"
  • Introduced "river events" (hand-crafted map segments with unique challenges)
  • Tweaked "water fall" river event
  • Added "shallow water" river event
  • Improved camera follow, player should never need to adjust the camera manually anymore
  • Added camera collision
  • Added restart option in pause menu
  • Improved UI scaling

Upcoming Goals:

  • Improve river generation
    • Automatic Respawn Point Generation
    • Automatic Eagle Nest Generation
    • Automatic Creature placements
  • Add multiplayer
  • Improve player control
    • Improve Control so fish only moves in direction where its looking at instead of straight forward
    • Remove surface & sink
    • Respawn the player at the last checkpoint
    • Flapping on land
    • Break free from eagle
  • Improve entities
    • Bear, make it more dynamic, moves around and chase the player etc
    • Eagle, always targets closest nest, allow for some time in water to catch fish (Dive), change movement to dive instead of circling around, add sfx for diving and eagle voice
    • Fisherman, only start throwing hook when they spot the fish (replace collider detection with vision detection), add sfx for throwing and landing hook, when hooked, slow the fish down and if slowed enough, pick up the fish and place in bucket on boat (kills player)
  • Revamp NPCs
  • Fix a lot of bugs

Audio Team

  • Team meeting to discuss overarching style and instrumentation choices for different levels/music tracks
  • Audio team should now be able to implement audio tracks into Unity directly - will still continue to refer to CS team regarding any hiccups
  • Beta presentation audio masterlist finalized

Upcoming Goals

  • finalize music tracks
  • finalize water SFX in collaboration with CS team (water ambience to be applied to new spline)
